Karto Terms of Use

Last updated: October 17, 2026

This is a translation of the French version, which prevails in case of discrepancy.

In short

1. Acceptance

These terms apply to the Karto app and the kartoapp.ca website, published by Entreprise Jay Lauzon (Québec, Canada). By using Karto, you accept these terms and our privacy policy. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

2. The service

Karto compares grocery prices in Québec: deals of the week, price history, shopping list, favourites, barcode scanner and other tools. Karto is free, with additional features in the paid version, Karto Pro. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

3. Price accuracy

4. Allergies and diets

Allergen and diet indications come from information published by retailers and may be incomplete or inaccurate. They never replace reading the product label or the advice of a health professional.

5. Account

An account is optional. You are responsible for the email address you use to sign in and for access to that mailbox. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Settings → My account).

6. Karto Pro

6b. Referrals

7. Permitted use

Karto is intended for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not:

8. Intellectual property and trademarks

The Karto name, its logo and the app belong to Entreprise Jay Lauzon. Grocery store names and logos belong to their respective owners; they are used only to identify the stores. Their presence does not mean that these companies endorse Karto or are associated with it.

9. External links

Karto contains links to other websites (grocery stores, Amazon.ca, YouTube…), which have their own terms. Some links to Amazon.ca are affiliate links: as an Amazon Associate, Karto may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.

10. Availability

We do our best to keep Karto available and up to date, but the service may be interrupted, for example for maintenance or if a price source stops working.

11. Liability

To the extent permitted by law, and subject to your rights under Québec's Consumer Protection Act, Karto is provided “as is” and Entreprise Jay Lauzon is not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the app, including an inaccurate price, a refused price match in store or an interruption of the service.

12. Changes and termination

We may change these terms. Important changes will be announced in the app and you will need to accept them to keep using it. You can stop using Karto at any time. We may suspend access for anyone who does not comply with section 7.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
